Transformative experience is the hallmark of every society — it’s the thread once woven into the very fabric of community. Without personal transformation, there can be no true transformation of the whole. Digital transformation, too, reshapes the self — and my own has been forged as a first-person witness to the disparity between the harrowing, body-phobic censorship of Facebook and Instagram, and the abject ghettoization of online queer spaces.

My efforts are grounded in nearly 30 years of queer online experience. On November 7, 2020, I answered the call of queer revolution. You may recall that day — a grim reminder of how divided we are as a people. The backlash came not merely by rejecting the idealism of progressive values, but through a pitiless assault on the tattered remnants of our democracy itself. The pendulum is in full swing.
